After his MBBS in 1985, he completed his MS in 1988 in General Surgery from the University of Gauhati.
In 1990, Dr. Jain did MCh (Colorectal Surgery) at St Mark’s Hospital, London.
He was among the pioneers to start laparoscopic surgery in India after receiving training from Middlesex Hospital in the United Kingdom.
